Throughout history, from the Greeks to modern day Italy, Sicily has had high-importance strategically for military operations, economic trade, and control of resources. From ancient times to modern day life it has also been a place to holiday and no other town stands out like Taormina.

On a hill-top not too far away from the strait that divides Sicily from the Italian Peninsula lies a charming city, facing out toward the Ionian Sea from a high, natural terrace. With its Medieval architecture, its ancient Greek soul, and the colors of Mediterranean foliage, Taormina is one of the most beautiful places you could visit in the world. The Greeks and Romans who holidayed in Taormina savoured that very same view, and it continues to be a destination to this day.
